Earth Day was first celebrated on April 22, 1970.  Every year on this same day since it is continuously celebrated. People celebrate Earth Day by giving back to their community and back to the Earth.  Many organizations like the Army Corps of Engineers and Federal Emergency Management Agency work to give back to nature as well as give back to those in need.

Earth Day may have a specific date designated for helping the environment, but it doesn’t mean we shouldn’t contribute year round. Let’s take a pact to do whatever we can, no matter how miniscule the task may be, in order to better our environment and the others within it.
