I joined KSM because I felt like I've known these girls forever. They have the same heart as me and I know I can rely on them for anything. They value community and service as much as me and I know if any person needed help, we would always be there to help them and lift eachother up.
What is your favorite thing about KSM?
My favorite thing about KSM is the people - I love this group of girls and I love that I have found true friendships and people I look up to and admire.
Why did you choose your major?
I chose Nursing because I have watched my mother suffer through her illnesses and I managed to help her through it. I felt like the world needed a compassionate nurse like me to help them through the hardest times of their lives and to be there by their bedside when they are hurting most. I know no matter how hard nursing school will be, I need to get through it and help people who are suffering.
Describe your culture
I am a first generation child to be in America from my family. I was born in Turkmenistan but my ethnicity is Armenian and I speak Russian. Growing up I had many powerful armenian women by my side to lift me up and show me the correct way to be in this world. They taught me how to be kind and loving and to give give give. Us Armenians love to give to people and not receive. My childhood was filled with Russian and Armenian food cooked by my family and the love everyone has for eachother. We love to dance and be together. You will never leave our house without food in your hands.
