I have always felt that describing my culture is difficult because my culture is just a part of who I am. I was raised by a family who was extremely accepting of all people and cultures, and I have always had an extremely diverse group of friends. Genealogically speaking, my family has an interesting background which includes British, French, Polish, German, Irish, Scandanavian, and more with little traces of American Indian (Cherokee) and African (north and central) even. However, my family line has always mostly identified with the polish and German aspects of our culture.
Why did you join KSM?
I joined KSM because I strongly identify with it's values as a multicultural service organization, but I also joined because it provides a stronger sense of a female community and acceptance at a school dominated by men. The girls in KSM really are wonderful people with the kindest souls.
What is your favorite thing about KSM?
My favorite thing about KSM is being able to help the community with an open minded group of girls who know how to conquer the world's biggest challenges together.
