2016 Culture Week : Empowerment
For our second annual Culture Week, we welcomed back the Folk Fair, Pickle Hunt, and Ponche Sale and introduced 1,000 Paper Cranes
Monday, December 12th: 1,000 Paper Cranes
According to Japanese legend, if one has the patience to fold 1,000 origami paper cranes, they will be granted a wish. We tried to fold 1,000 paper cranes with the MSOE student body. We didn't end up having nearly the patience required to be granted a wish, but we had a lot of fun folding!

Friday, December 16th: Ponche Sale
Continuing the tradition from Culture Week 2015, we served up lots of hot ponche to the students of MSOE.
Wednesday, December 14th : Folk Fair
Empowerment was the theme for this Folk Fair. Thank you to all of the MSOE organizations who set up some awesome booths at the fair to share what empowers their culture.
Saturday, December 17th : Service
We helped serve dinner at Summerfield Methodist Church. Summerfield has an amazing meal program for the homeless and hungry in the Milwaukee area. Learn more about them here.

Our First Annual Culture Celebration
The second week of December 2015 was the first time KSM hosted Winter Culture Week at MSOE.
To kick off the week on Monday evening, we hosted a Folk Fair on the third floor of the MSOE Campus Center giving away free cookies to everyone who attended. We invited all of the other organizations on campus to set up a booth at the fair and share their culture's winter traditions with guests.
Throughout the week, KSM facilitated a toy drive across campus for the Milwaukee organization, SaintA. We also hosted our 2nd annual Pickle Hunt, hiding paper pickles around the third floor of the Campus Center and awarding prizes to those who were able to hunt a pickle down.
We finished off the week with a ponche sale on Friday. Ponche is a traditional Mexican Christmas beverage. All proceeds from the sale went to the SaintA Toy Drive.
